Topic: Hatchet - Steps for Survival

This week's essay topic is very specific, so read these instructions carefully!

The general idea of the essay is to write down the "steps" you would take to survive if you were in that situation.

Your first paragraph will describe the setting and situation you are in. Don't forget the details!

Your second paragraph should begin with, "The first thing I would do in order to survive is...". Then write a paragraph with details explaining the very first thing you would do. (Details!)

Your third paragraph should begin with, "The next thing I would do is...", or "After that I would...". Don't forget to describe clearly what you would do.

Your final paragraph can conclude your essay or you can write more if you need to.

Notes: I have used the same prompt as last week because we are going to work on the revision process this week. Consider last week's essay your rough draft. This week, you need to look critically at what you wrote. As you work on this week's finished product, make sure your essay has the following:

- A clear beginning, middle, and end.

- Multiple paragraphs

- Each paragraph is indented

- Each sentence starts with a capital letter

- Correct punctuation

- Correct spelling

- Neat handwriting or typed and printed

When you turn in your final product next Friday, please include your rough draft from last week. I should be able to see many edits/changes when comparing the two papers.
